ABOUT
MUSA SPORTS
What is MUSA?
MUSA, the Midwestern Unconventional Sports Association, was established in the fall of 2000, in Milwaukee, WI, with the goal of bringing together people in sports which really can not be taken too seriously.
The lager-induced inception of MUSA brought about the inaugural season of coed adult kickball. From its humble roots in which 6 teams of roughly 100 the league has grown to over 300 teams, 4000+ participants in four cities and three states.
Over the years, MUSA has branched out in other sports as well including dodgeball, basketball, volleyball and more. At the root of it all, we hope to maintain our mission statement of bringing folks together in a social and athletic context, providing high-quality leagues and events. Enjoy!!
Cities
The best way to begin is by learning about the website. Start at the top of this page with row of city names among other links that are pretty standard on most sites. All you need to do is hover-over the city you are located in and it will call up another menu filled with links of where to go to next.
Sports
Some cities offer more sports other than others so you can easily click on the sport you wish to get more info about. The main sport page will be filled with blog posts about that specific sport you chose and any announcements such as weather status or telling you that registration is open.
Registration/Enrollment
Enrollment for obvious reasons is open at different times of the year depending on the sport and in what city you are in. We try to have enrollment open a month before league play begins to give teams enough time to assemble and get the registration fee.
Payment & Deadline
If you’re enrolling a team for an upcoming season it’s as easy as filling out the form and paying the enrollment fee. Some teams get sponsors and some pay out of pocket so that’s entirely up to you and your team as long as the balance of the enrollment fee is paid by or on the deadline. This will ensure you a spot in our league if that division hasn’t been filled yet. Some divisions and leagues are more popular than others so getting your enrollment form and payment in as soon as you can will help lock-in your spot for the season.
League Play
Rules
All of our sports have some sort of rules to play by so it’s always a good idea to have you and your teammates read them over before suiting up on game day. This might avoid some confusion when playing a sport you may haven’t played since middle school or maybe coming from another organization.
If you look at the menu below and choose your city you’ll be able to review the current rules.
Schedules
Schedules should be posted or emailed to captains a week prior to the first game when at all possible. Sometimes in order to fill up or add another team after the deadline, the schedule might be revised. If that is the case, captains will be notified and the new schedule will be posted online.
Standings
For all of our sports, we keep track of some kind of standings and they can be accessed anytime during the season and even long after the season has finished thanks to our friends at Bracketpal. They have developed our “Data” part of the site and you’ll be using that section quite a bit. Some leagues will have End-of-Season (EOS) Tournaments for those teams that qualify or maybe other mid-season tournaments to keep things fresh.
Contact Us
Since all of our leagues are run by different people, there are many ways to connect with us. Head to our Contact Us page to see the best way to contact the representative for your city.
Thanks everyone and we hope you enjoy what MUSA has to offer and that we see you back season after season!
